Description
 Extravaganza
of Strings Music with Maestro Liu De Hai & Liu Shun is part of the
Singapore Chinese Orchestra's (SCO) Ensemble Series.
Having
heard the powerful orchestra in the strength of its entirety, now be
seduced by its soloists, quartets and quintets. Learn about
intimate, smaller scale performances, and at the same time, have
your breath taken away by creative new ways of making music.
Pipa
maestro Liu De Hai is renowned for his great achievements in
modifying the pipa technique (adopting the elements of cello and
guitar fingering), improvising and composing modern Pipa music. The
highly regarded master will conduct and coach the SCO Plucked String
section while huqin maestro, Liu Shun will work with the SCO Bowed
String section. Together, they will perform some of the finest works
composed by Liu Tian Hua, famed huqin maestro and composer, which
will showcase the talents of the SCO's Plucked and Bowed String
sections.
