The
Substation presents world-renowned Melbourne-based comic
artist, Michael Leunig in an exhibition in The Substation
Gallery. Leunig's many books include Everyday Devils and
Angels, The Penguin Leunig and Ramming the Shears. His works
have also been exhibited in the Naional Gallery of Victoria in
1991. The aim of the exhibition is to take a popular genre
like comic art and, by presenting it in a different context,
encourage audiences to look more closely at the work, and to
recognise its nuances and artistry. This exhibition is a
presentation by The Substation with support from the
Australian High Commission.
