New Year, an important Chinese festival in Singapore, is
celebrated annually in Chinatown with a dazzling street
light-up along key Chinatown roads. As part of the festival
celebration, locals and tourists alike can experience a gamut
of cultural performances daily and take part in buzzling
street fairs where they can find stalls selling festive
goodies such as traditional home-baked cookies, barbecued
sweet meats, seaweed, waxed duck, Chinese sausages and Chinese
titbits.
