Young Stars is part of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra's (SCO)
Family Concert Series.
For
the young and young at heart, SCO's family concerts transform
Chinese orchestral music into an accessible and enjoyable
experience. Filled with familiar tunes that will light up the eyes
of little ones and ignite their imaginations with tales of
adventure, joy and fun, these carefully constructed concerts are
perfect musical diversions for the inquisitive young minds.
Tomorrow’s
Chinese orchestral music greats take to the stage today. Promising
young musicians from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, the winning
primary schools of the Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging
Competition, as well as award winners from the National Chinese
Music Competition share the limelight with talented young soloists
from the Shanghai Conservatory’s affiliated high school. Featuring
complicated performance pieces such as The Flight of the Bumblebee
and Yellow River Concerto that require sophisticated techniques, the
accomplished young musicians showcase their multifaceted talents.
