Description
 One
of the most acclaimed plays in recent history, Proof tells the story
of an enigmatic young woman, Catherine, her manipulative sister,
their brilliant father and an unexpected suitor. They are all pieces
of the puzzle in the search for the truth in behind a mysterious
mathematical proof. Described by the New York Times as “an
exhilarating and assured new play that is accessible and compelling
as a detective story”, Proof was originally produced by the
prestigious Manhattan Theatre Club on 23 May 2000. It subsequently
opened on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre on 24 October 2000.
The play is still playing there in the same theatre after nearly two
years. The West End production of the play took London by storm when
it premiered there on 15 May 2002. A movie version of the play
starring Gwyneth Paltrow is also in the works at Miramax Films.
